Wondering what type of animation is best for your product or service but aren’t sure what each type of animation entails? We’re here to help! In this episode of Video Marketing Mastery, WireBuzz CEO Todd Hartley is joined by Amanda Makara, Senior Editor and Animator, to explain the difference between 2-D and 3-D animation.
Let’s start with 2-D animation, which takes flat illustrated images and puts them into motion on screen. The result is what you would normally see in a traditional animation. This is the most popular style for a lot of marketing videos as it is an effective way to tell a story and present data. A 2-D animation video also takes less time to produce, is easier to update, and tends to be more cost-effective.
3-D animation, on the other hand, is less illustrated and more digitized and realistic. This is a popular choice among our healthcare and life science clients, as 3-D animation is an excellent way to show objects that are mechanical, such as medical devices. And it’s also great for realistically demonstrating something inside the body that a live action video wouldn’t be able to capture.
